Is your website mobile friendly?

In April 2015, Google launched a major update to its search engine algorithm, that effectively penalises websites if they are not prepared for use on mobile phones and tablets.  The change is part of the search engine giant’s ongoing mission to serve us with ever more suitable search results. Acknowledging that more people than ever are using smartphones to search the internet, Google is now giving a higher ranking to websites that are optimised to give a good visitor experience on smartphones and tablets such as iPads.  And, if your website was built some time back, it may not have the functionality to adapt. Many modern websites are designed to be “responsive” – that is, they will adapt depending on the device being used to view them. For some businesses, a separate mobile website may be appropriate; retailers, for example, may be better off telling mobile visitors about their opening hours and directions to their shop.  If you are concerned that your site is not mobile friendly, and could be dropping down the Google rankings as a result, call Website Express now to discuss a review.
